Big ideas in small countries. Modern Miracles for age-old cultures. Technology isn't everywhere, but if it can make its way into the heart of an ancient village, it's well on its way.
Perched on a mountain top just a few miles from Italy's Ligurian coast, the medieval village of Colletta di Castelbianco is an oasis of peace-so peaceful that it was abandoned back in the 1950s. Now it's being rejuvenated with help from Telecom Italia, which sees the empty town as a perfect blank sheet on which to create Italy's most wired city. Each house will be laced with fiber-optic cable for fast Internet access and tooled up for full video conferencing. Caesar, surely, would have been proud.
